Lost Dog

My parents and sister are visiting and this morning we opened presents. Here's a picture of the l00t:

I got the new Stephen King novel, the second season DVD set of Buffy, and the new Shins CD. My big gift, a pair of high-end Shure earphones for my iPod, hasn't arrived yet. And everyone seemed to enjoy the gifts I got for them. My nurses managed to surprise me by getting me a lovely teak table for the television in my bedroom. Thanks, guys!

Return of the King was crazy good. By the end, I was physically exhausted. With only a couple exceptions (what, no Mouth of Sauron?), it was remarkably faithful to the book. Some people have complained about the length of the ending, but with a story so epic in scale it's difficult to wrap everything up in a single denouement. I'll probably see it again next week and that will be enough until the extended DVD is released.

And here's hoping that the Beagle 2 decides to give its makers a Merry Christmas by sending a signal home.

Dear Marc!
This is your uncle Joachim.
I just tried to find your phone number, but the personal side of your page does not open at the moment in my computer.
Anyway, I and we want you to send our kindest and cordially wishes for the new year.
The Xmas festivals are over and as I could see on your photo you got many nice presents. Hope you will get soon your ear phones (?).

This moment we are waiting for the visit of your brother Scott. He is coming by train from Mainz, as he told me by handy- phone.
We are expecting an intersting evening here in Reutlingen.
We two (my wife and me) came this morning back from Münster, 500 km north from our place, where we traditionally visited the family of my wife. We meet there all the family (Grandparents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers with meanwhile 8 nefues)
During that time most of us are living on the farm, which is in the hands of the eldest brother. The 8O Jears old father(Grandpa) is still working also on the farm and is feeding every day the small new born pigs.
Barbara, your Mother and also Scott and Chrystal, I think, are still rememberd as visitors there before several (many :-) ) years.

So I hope you are well and I would be glad to here from you also personally besides your very intersting dayly reports on your side.
(my e- mail adress: drroehl@gmx.de)

yours, Joachim and Irmgard with Henning whom we saw in these days and who is already back on work in Dresden.
